Professor
I am Associate Professor of Medieval and Modern Legal History at the University of Milan. My research focuses on the relationship between law, society, and political authority in medieval and early modern Europe, with particular attention to criminal justice, ecclesiastical jurisdiction, and the evolution of legal documentation. I work extensively on the history of family law and on notarial culture, exploring how contracts, wills, and local customs shaped kinship structures and property relations.
I teach Medieval and Modern Legal History and courses on legal sources, manuscript culture, and archival methodologies. I have authored monographs, critical editions, and numerous articles on Lombard legal traditions, secular–ecclesiastical interactions, and the circulation of legal norms. I also participate in national and international research projects and collaborate with archives and cultural institutions to support the study and preservation of legal-historical heritage.
