Professor & Scientific Coordinator of the Website
I am a scholar with a profound interest in intellectual and comparative legal history, as well as in cultural legal studies.
My research covers a wide range of subjects from a longue durée perspective, including the historical development of justice and the cultural background of judges and lawyers; the history of criminal law; the history of universities and legal education; the circulations of legal thought and knowledge. I also specialise in the history of commercial law in the contemporary era.
I joined the University of Milan in 2023 as a full professor of legal history. I teach compulsory legal history classes for law students, as well as an elective course on the cultural history of law.
