Alessandra Bassani, PhD

I am an Associate Professor of Medieval and Modern Legal History at the University of Milan, where I teach in the degree programmes in Law, Legal Sciences, and History.
My research focuses on the history of criminal trials and evidentiary practices from the Middle Ages to the present day. I have also co-edited several interdisciplinary volumes in collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Historical Studies.
More recently, I have been developing a specific line of research on Fascism and the jurisprudence of the Special Court for the Defence of the State.
